PROJECT INFORMATION

The AmyWorld Project involves the creation of a series of quality educational software titles for children, that will run on Windows-based PCs. The programs will feature a cute little puppy named Amy, who will introduce your child to numbers, letters, math, and other early subjects, while making the experience easy and fun.

Amy's programs are designed for young children, from the ages of about 2 to 5 years old. But older children shouldn't feel left out, as I have plans to introduce titles with more advanced subject matter in the future. Amy will also appear in a number of games, that all ages can surely enjoy.

The programs will be free to download and use.

No, buying a site license isn't required if you plan to use the programs at your school. The programs are free to use, whether you use them in your home, school, library, church, or other public site.

So that as many children around the world will be able to use them, without worrying about the costs involved when buying software.

There are many people around the world who don't have access to the latest computer hardware, so I feel it's important that multiple versions of each program in the series are available, so that as many children as possible can benefit from their use.

A "Standard Version" will be created that will run on any Windows-based PC, with any version of Windows, so that it is well-suited to run on older hardware with standard 4:3 monitors.

A "Widescreen Version" will also be created, that will be specifically designed with enhanced features and high-resolution widescreen graphics to take advantage of today's much more powerful PCs and graphic cards.

A "Compact Version" may also be created when a program could be a bit too large for individuals with dial-up Internet connections to comfortably download. The Compact Version will be exactly like the Standard Version, but will have lower-resolution music and sound effects, which will make for a faster download.

Making Amy's programs available to as many children around the world as possible is my goal, so I'll do everything I can to create programs that everyone can have access to and enjoy.

For now. Eventually though, it would be nice to be able to offer them in other languages. I'll have more news on this in the future.

Only that I'm very excited about this project and hope that you and your children will be looking forward to it, also. The entire project will require many years of work, due to the number of programs that I plan on releasing. In the meantime, please be patient, because creating quality software is a challenging, time-consuming process. Free or not, quality, attention to detail, and entertainment value, are all very important to me, as I'm sure they are to you, also.
